6 Concrete Table Types for Your Consideration

Concrete is a universal material. It’s stunning outdoors and in. It does countertops as easily as it does furniture. It’s art in the hands of a designer and structural security in the hands of an engineer. It’s really a powerful medium.

A concrete table is a thing of beauty and a durable heritage piece that can be handed down for generations. Technology and custom concrete blends have made the concrete table more accessible design-wise than ever before. The sky’s the limit.

Not sure whether a concrete table should be a part of your plan? Consider these six concrete table types and you’ll be making room for a new table soon.

Pedestal

The pedestal table is one that you’re already familiar with. However, you’ve never seen it like this. Whether round, square, or rectangular, a concrete pedestal table makes a statement.

The table rests on a geometric concrete piece that supports the table in mid-century modern fashion. It’s minimalist in form and shape, but substantial in structure. Round tables have cylindrical pedestals, square tables sit atop a cube pedestal, and rectangular tables have two smaller, more streamlined columns. The pedestals strike the balance between style and plenteous foot space.

The pedestal itself is hollow to decrease the weight of the table. It sits on a felt pad to protect flooring. The tables come in different finishes for indoors or outdoors depending on where the table will go. They come in different sizes with seating for 8-12 people. Select from 8 neutral colors in a classic, rustic finish. Every table is sealed to enhance and protect the table.

Table Top

If you have a DIY streak, you’ll appreciate a concrete table top. Then you’ll be able to construct the base according to your personal tastes and style. Concrete table tops come in eight neutral colors, numerous sizes and shapes, and two thicknesses.

Dining tables come as small as 24” and as large as 60” x 30”. Select either 1” thick or 2” thick. You can also select to add a subdeck, a 1” thick melamine foundation that gives the table additional structure and makes it easier to work with as you add the table legs.

Coffee Tables

A concrete coffee table is an unexpected material but one that’s more than welcome in just about any design style. It’s understated but can also be showstopping. It all depends on how you style it. Choose from classic forms to modern geometrics and waterfall edges to wheeled legs.

Try a cylindrical side table for a mid-century modern vibe. Go with the oval coffee table with wood grain texturing on the sides for a rustic-refined finish. Sizes range from 50” long down to 18”. Colors range in the neutral palette in grays and beiges.

For models with wood legs, you can select the type/color of wood you’d like from a gray maple to a rich espresso. For metal selection choose from black or brushed stainless in various configurations.

Console Tables

A console table is wide and shallow and generally a bit taller than most other tables. Usually it goes against a wall but sometimes behind a couch. They can also be used outdoors with a specialty finish applied. The console table is a versatile piece of furniture.

A concrete console table makes a nice addition to your space. The waterfall edge concrete console is particularly nice. It highlights just what concrete can do as a table material. Another option is a table with legs. Wider, wood base adds to an industrial or mid-century modern aesthetic.

Console tables are available in sizes up to 80” long and come in a variety of neutral colors from white to gray, to beige.

Outdoor

Concrete tables are suitable for the outdoors. If they are finished specifically for the outdoors, they receive a finish that protects them from the elements, including UV rays. When you purchase concrete that is treated for the outdoors, you can rely on it looking like new and functioning like new for a long time even though it is exposed to harsh conditions.

You can order any table at Trueform Concrete with an outdoor finish that will ensure it can stand up to the elements. Be sure to make this request when ordering.
